Poetry Ireland – Critical Assessment

  • Location: Poetry Ireland, 11 Parnell Square East, Dublin 1
  • Date: Ongoing

Cost:

Poetry Ireland offers a manuscript reading and assessment service to poets who would like to seek an opinion on their work from an established poet.

The Assessment Service is of most use to those who have begun publishing in journals and elsewhere and who are working towards a collection.

This service is not for beginner writers.

Your work will be sent on to one of a panel of poets (currently Enda Wyley, Nessa O’Mahony, Grace Wells, Alan Jude Moore, Nell Regan, Matthew Geden, and Gerard Smyth) who will send you a written assessment of your work, including suggested revisions, reading, etc. It usually takes 4 – 5 weeks for a response.

The cost for this service is €75. This money goes directly to the assessing poet: there is no handling fee.

To avail of the service you should send 10 poems (not more than 15 pages) with a cheque to:

Critical Assessment Service,
Poetry Ireland,
11 Parnell Square East
Dublin, Ireland

Alternatively, you can email 10 poems (not more than 15 pages) in an attached Word document to info@poetryireland.ie and pay via credit/debit card or PayPal using the link below.
