Sketch Up Workshop Weekend

  • Location: The Dock, Carrick On Shannon
  • Date: Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd September
  • Duration: 11am - 4pm

Cost: 75.00

Learn SketchUp to help communicate exhibition & project proposal

SketchUp is a powerful and intuitive 3D modelling programme and software that has proven to be an excellent tool for artists proposals, layout and visualisation of projects, object and sculptural work and exhibition design.

This weekend with Corvus Design is for Artists and anyone else who would like to learn SketchUp to help communicate project proposals. Basic computer skills are desirable but not essential.

In this workshop you will learn the basics to quickly prototype your project proposal and create different 3D views and floor plans of your installation and/or exhibition layout. 3D models can transform the way you work and communicate your ideas, from design to grant application to installation & layout.

For artists, it provides a straightforward way of creating a virtual 3D exhibition space from 2D plans and sketches, enabling you to visualise your work in the space ahead of time. In this weekend hands-on course, you will learn the basics of SketchUp, and apply these to creating a 3D model of a simple 2D floor plan and elevation information. We will also look at further learning resources online, so that you can continue to build your SketchUp skills after the course.
