Are you a musician living in Leitrim or any of the surrounding counties?

On Saturday the 13th of May, Creative Frame in partnership with The Glens Centre Manorhamilton, will hold a dedicated event for musicians. Organised by musicians for musicians this event will be a great opportunity to get together with other regionally based music artists to talk about developments in the sector, compare notes and to share insights on ways to develop asustainable music career in rural Ireland.

An informal panel discussion from 2pm – 4pm will be followed by music industry focused information clinics from 4pm – 6pm.

The panel will include Lisa O’ Neill, Mick Blake, Cian Rock, Angela Dorgan (First Music Contact) and Marty Nolan (Management Promotion International)

There will also be one to one information clinics with a number of regional based industry professionals including Mark Willis from Blue Stack Records,Dina Coughlan from Tremolo Music Publishing, Daniel Guest, from Sligo based Art for Blind Records and Angela Dorgan from First Music Contact (Hard Working Class Heros and Music From Ireland).

The Panel

Lisa O’Neill, from Cavan, is one of Ireland’s most brilliant and original singer songwriters. Her critically acclaimed third album, Pothole in the Sky, was released last year. She has just returned from a two month European tour supporting The Divine Comedy. She will play a solo gig at the Glens after the Creative Frame event.

Mick Blake is a singer song-writer from Leitrim.His songwriting talents have been recognised by Christy Moore who has recorded his songs. He has just released his first solo album Oblivious which was recorded and produced at the Glens Centre.

Cian Rock is a young singer songwriter born in Dublin and raised in Kiltyclogher in Leitrim. He and his family are among the organisers of the Stoney Woods Festival. He has a degree in music performance and has had a residency at Cois Tine in Cavan. He is working on an EP and a video.

Angela Dorgan is the director of First Music Contact, a free information and advice resource for musicians in the independent music sector in Ireland delivering projects at key stages of an artist’s development.

Martin Nolan founded MPI, Management Promotion International, in 2000 and the agency quickly gained a reputation internationally, attracting many of Ireland’s top stars to its roster. MPI now has offices in Dublin, London and Nashville. Its artists include Paul Brady, Sharon Shannon, Shane McGowan, Finbar Furey, and Altan. http://mpibands.com/
