FMC Regional Development Plan Phase 2

  • Location: Online
  • Date: Thursday September 24th

Cost: 0.00

First Music Contact have now completed the first set of workshops musicians in County Leitrim and we’re very pleased with how they’ve gone. We found that participants really responded to the format and the fact that they had an opportunity to engage with the panellists in this way. We feel that the quality of the content on offer was excellent and we know that the word of mouth on the workshops has been good – so much so that we’ve already had approaches from other county arts offices about getting involved!

We are now moving to Phase 2 which will consist of another round of targeted workshops with your four counties.

If Phase 1 was about professional development, Phase 2 will be about assessing the exact nature of the supports which artists feel they need and which can be delivered.

Before we commence, we’d like to issue a second questionnaire in early January to gather more data on these requirements. More details shortly.

Phase 2 workshop to be held online on Wednesday 23rd February 5 -7pm will be broken down as follows:

Hour 1 – a workshop on a specific theme raised by county participants in the original questionnaires – this will be another professional development panel with local, national and international panellists

Hour 2 – a workshop on what the arts office can provide in terms of funding and support – we propose that this will be a facilitated workshop led by Jim Carroll with each arts officer going through what supports their office currently have available for musicians at various stages, and then an analysis of the results of the second questionnaire which may highlight what musicians would LIKE to see available locally in terms of financial and other supports.
