With a growing number of opportunities to work with young people and children it is essential that any artists working in this capacity are aware of the responsibilities they have for safeguarding the wellbeing of the young people in their groups. To ensure that you are informed and supported to work in these contexts Creative Frame in association with the National Youth Council of Ireland will present a child protection awareness programme.
This four hour basic awareness course designed by the National Youth Council of Ireland is the standardised child protection training programme for the youth work sector. It aims to create a basic awareness about the key issues in relation to child protection in an arts context. Each participant will receive certification from the NYCI for participation in the programme.
The workshop is suitable for artists of any discipline who intend to work with childrens and young people in the future and also for artists who may currently be working in this regard and feel they need to update their Child Protection and Awareness Training.
The workshop will be delivered by Sophie Burfurd, National Child Protection Manager at the National Youth Council of Ireland
