Now more than ever artists are connecting and engaging with their audiences online. In this 6 week course on Building your Social Media Presence and Connecting with Audiences Online, artist Kari Cahill will help you to create a social media presence that works for you and your artistic practice, so whether you are a writer, painter, poet or sculptor, this course will show you the simple marketing tools you need to share your creativity with online audiences. Whatever your goal, each session will focus on a particular aspect of social media marketing to ensure that your social platforms are working for you.

PLANNING & ORGANISATION
Each participant will create a posting schedule suited to their business/project needs and requirements. The planning stage will cover the following:
Identifying what you want to achieve through your social platforms.
How to organise your workflow.
Content! How can you visually represent your creative business so it showcases you work in the best light. How to use captions and text to support your images.
Knowing your platforms and understanding scheduling.
Structuring your campaign.
Calls to action/takeaways.
THE CAMPAIGN ( tailored posting schedule)
Each participant will launch their campaign in week four. The sessions will provide a mentoring space to each participant.
Weeks 4 & 5.
As individual issues arise we will discuss and problem solve. We will be tightening up our workflow and organisation.
We will also cover the following:
How to chat with customers efficiently
How to reach more audiences
Pushing past your comfort zone
How to evaluate your growth and exposure.
How to integrate your learnings and improve your social media presence going forward.
Kari Cahill Artists Biography:
Kari is an artist based out of The Model, Sligo. She has presented work throughout Ireland, more specifically at wild landscapes along the West Coast (Calafort 2019, Tombolo 16-19, Silva 18). She has presented work internationally in France, and more recently in Brazil after she was awarded the Arts Council’s Travel & Training award 2019. Kari has participated in residencies in India (Space 118, Bombay 2016) and Brazil (Na Casa,Florianopolis 2019). and was an invited guest speaker at Basic Talks (2019), Above the Fold (2017), Short Stories (2018) and New Ecologies of Practice, NCAD (2012). Her projects have been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Irish Times, Cassandra Voices, Bloomers Magazine and Wild Pigment People.
Kari is Co-Director and Co-Founder of Lay of the Land (LOTL) – a site-responsive arts organisation producing residencies and exhibitions in remote locations around Ireland, and participates as both artist and curator.
