Wellbeing is feeling good about yourself, the world around you and functioning well in everyday life. Wellbeing for artists is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of sustaining a healthy, creative, and fulfilling life. Artists—whether visual, performing, literary, or digital—face unique challenges that can affect their mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Some of these challenges include working in isolation, relentless deadlines, financial insecurity creative burnout. There are many things that can influence your wellbeing. These include exercise, diet, sense of belonging, relationships, career, self-care, spirituality, money, where we live, and sense of purpose.
In this morning meetup we will connect with our creative peers over coffee and explore the Five Ways to Wellbeing, simple actions to practice each day to maintain or improve our mental health and wellbeing as artists. The session will also include a Sound Bath with Christina Baker Kenny.
Kristina Baker Kenny is a multidisciplinary musician and sound practitioner whose practice is informed by her background in classical and traditional Irish music, alongside travels throughout Asia and Latin America. Her sound baths integrate diverse cultural influences and instruments to create immersive, relaxing experiences. She recently set up the Rhythm Room, a dedicated space for creative expression, inclusion, and wellbeing in the arts, where connection is nurtured through all artforms.
