|Description of practice/Biography||
David Smith's paintings depict landscapes which are shifting, living and dying. Influenced by ink painting, abstraction and photography, they aim to suggest a transient sense of the natural world. David has lived and worked in Hong Kong since 2005. His work has recently been exhibited at AJC gallery, Hong Kong, The Hong Kong art prize, The Hong Kong-Shenzhen biennale, as well as at Manifest gallery in the US. He has also worked with photographic and music based projects. He taught at the Savannah College of Art & Design in Hong Kong before returning to Ireland in late 2016. He is now based in Co. Sligo.
