Leitrim Creative Ireland – Creative Sector Jobs Stimulus Programme

As part of Leitrim County Council’s Creative Ireland programme and arising from specific funding provided through the Government Jobs Stimulus Package, Leitrim County Council has developed three new programmes to support the sector and those working in it.

The closing date for applications for all three programmes is midnight on Friday 16th October.

Leitrim Creative Sector Internship Programme

The Leitrim Creative Sector Internship Programme offers Leitrim based Arts & Culture Organisations the opportunity to employ an intern for 2 days per week for 20 weeks at a rate of €100.00 per day. The programme is designed to provide an early career creative sector practitioner with the opportunity to gain valuable experience at an important time in their development. To take part in the scheme, an organisation must have the capacity to provide a valuable learning environment for the intern, have identified the areas the intern would work in, and to undertake recruitment and commence the employment of the intern within six months.

Leitrim Creative Sector Co-Support Programme

The Co-Support Programme provides grants to Leitrim based professional practitioners in the culture and creativity sector to avail of any service provided by another Leitrim practitioner that will demonstrably contribute to the applicant’s practice, enhance their work, or assist in the promotion of their work.

Such services could include but are not by any means limited to:

  • A writer or visual artist with the requisite skills writing biographies, and describing the applicant’s practice for their website and promotional material;
  • A filmmaker producing a short video of a band or a video profile of a visual artist or writer;
  • A theatre practitioner working with a musician to develop their stage skills;
  • A theatre company workshopping or producing a playwright’s work;
  • Or any other tangible purpose that uses one person’s skills to contribute to another’s practice.

The value of an award rises to a maximum of €2,000.  While there is no fixed number of awards, there is generally a larger number of lesser value awards and a small number of maximum value ones. The quantity and value of awards will depend on available resources, number of applicants and the quality of applications.

While the person receiving the benefit or service is the applicant, we are also accepting submissions from those that wish to put themselves forward as providing services to others.

Leitrim Creative Sector Tech Voucher Programme

As access to high speed reliable broadband becomes ever more important in the creative sector, the Tech Hub Voucher Programme provides grants to Leitrim based professional practitioners from the culture and creativity sector to avail of any service provided by any of Leitrim’s Enterprise Centre and Tech Hubs that will demonstrably contribute to the applicant’s practice, enhance their work, or assist in the promotion of their work.

Such services could include but are not limited to:

  • Hot Desk Facilities;
  • Meeting Room Facilities;
  • Teleconferencing Facilities.

The centres currently participating in the programme are:

  • Ballinamore Enterprise Hub.
  • Drumshanbo Enterprise Centre.
  • The Hive, Carrrick on Shannon.
  • ManorHub, Manorhamilton.
  • Mohill Enterprise Centre.
  • W8, Manorhamilton.

The value of a voucher rises to a maximum of €1,000.  While there is no fixed number of awards, there is generally a larger number of lesser value awards and a small number of maximum value ones. The quantity and value of awards will depend on available resources, number of applicants and the quality of applications.
