  • Location: Leitrim Sculpture Centre
  • Date: Sat 13th - Mon 14th April
  • Duration: 2 days

Cost: 140.00

Tutor: Niall Walsh. Duration: 2 Days. Participants: 6. Cost: €140
Participants will use locally sourced hazel and willow to construct simple stools and benches. Walsh will lead the group through the process of locating the raw materials and using hand tools to make furniture in the style of the ‘cottage’ tradition. This is a workshop in sustainability and will outline how the skill taught can be used to make a range of furniture and forms from the locality. Students come with: sturdy boots for walking in the wood. We have rooms to rent at €25 per night.
Niall Walsh is a fellow co-founder of Leitrim Sculpture Centre and has worked with wood in a range of different contexts from 2d to 3d, in gallery contexts, public commissions and sculpture symposiums in Ireland and around the world. www.niallwalsh.ie
